First Photography Outing 2010 [ 9-JAN-2010 ] + view blog details + | Thanks to Ishtar for helping the team to organize our first photography outing for 2010 The purpose for this trip is not solely for photography nonetheless, it involves a bit of exercise as well. We need to have a short hike up to the Ayer Itam dam and also also hike down before proceeding to Kek Lok Si temple. We started off our journey from my house at around 7.20am and headed to a coffee-shop at Ayer Itam for breakfast as suggested by Shang Yih. After grabbing our quick breakfast, it's time for a little walk Pity Ah Bok which looked really surprise when he found out that we need to hike up to reach the dam but he did a great job With all the encouragements and support, he did it. Kudos for you Bok... clap!!! clap!!! clap!!! That's the spirit
Here's a group picture of the morning heroes sacrificing their sleep for a morning hike to the Ayer Itam dam...hahaha

As we hike along, I had capture some random shots using my newly bought Canon EF 70-200mm L f/4.0 lens. Actually this outing is an on field test for me to try out this lens. Here are some of the shots:

The one above was one of my favorite test shots as it turned out to be quite nice with all the cloud patterns. Talking bout the dam, here's how it looks like for those who haven't been there before.

We were not there for long actually as we will need to meet up with another friend of ours at the Kek Lok Si temple. After taking a few more snaps there, we proceeded our way down to Kek Lok Si temple. This temple is a place where we feel very at home as almost every year when approaching the CNY, we will surely be going there for some photoshoot Well, nothing much changes except the roof for Kuan Yin is now in place. There you go, a picture of the Kuan Yin with the newly constructed roof.

The weather is very very hot there and if you are planning to go for a shoot there, try to avoid the afternoon timings. But if you don't have a choice, try finding shaddy places for coverage while taking your shots Here are some of the other random shots that I had taken while at the temple.

Thank you to all for the great outing and all the best for the year 2010. Looking forward to more and more outings with you guys... let's rock !!!! | | Feedbacks: [ + ] |

Alor Setar Wedding Coverage [ 26-DEC-2009 ] + view blog details + | 26th December marks my last wedding coverage in the year of 2009 I was thankful enough to have my best buddy together with me in this shoot We woke up early at 6.30am and traveled down to the bride's house at Bukit Tambun. Well, just like any other wedding sessions, we started to shoot the make up sessions as soon as we reached there Well, there's simple too many pictures to post up if I want to start from the day till the night hahaha... so I am just going to post up some wedding dinner pictures. For starters, here are my two friends, Yee Ting (female) and Chu Fung (male). Both of them looks very compatible right? Well, I personally feel that and I am sure in reality, they are as well

It tooks quite a while to find the dinner venue as the cars that we tailing proceeded without us after we are held back on a traffic light. But luckily enough, we eventually find our way there. We started snapping the moment we got there and with the large crowd of people, I really felt lucky that I have my buddy there to help out on the coverage.
As usual, in occasions like this, there'll be karaoke sessions and while people were on stage singing, I had spotted this uncle who is really enjoying himself with the songs being sang

I had managed to capture this cute little kid looking a bit puzzled seeing there's such a big crowd wahahaha

During the intervals between the dishes of food being served, the tea ceremony or so called 'pang-teh' continued on as some of the senior relatives were not present during the day.

Even though the couple were tired after a whole day of events, but I can still their happiness and laughter throughout the dinner

All in all, it was a great wedding... I will end this short article by posting up a picture of the couple popping the champaign

Congratulations to Yee Ting and Chu Fung and all the best in your future together | | Feedbacks: [ + ] |

Nike Sweet Classic - sports wear [ 20-DEC-2009 ] + view blog details + | Phew.... what a busy year 2009 had been Really seldom have I got the time for me to write blogs like I used to anymore. Well, there's still lots of blogs that is long overdue from my end but I guess, I will capitalize this holiday season to pen down all of it. There had been hectic schedules to keep me occupied for these couple of months back.. erm.. not work related of course haha Well, sad to say these tight schedules had worn me out and my defense system was left wide open for the common flu bug to attack. Still recovering from the flu and also my voice ... ~_~
But well, enough of introduction here as that's not my main purpose of this article. In this article, it's regarding my new shoe Actually, nothing big to brag about but then since I had bought it, I was thinking of posting up an entry here

My previous shoe was my favorite Nike Free 5.0 which had been very worn out at this stage. Initially, I was thinking to find a cobbler to mend some fixes on it but seeing the fact that the base of the shoe is starting to give-way, I figure I might as well get a new one instead. With Christmas around the corner, it's a good time to shop with all the sales going around.

Unfortunately, this Nike Sweet Classic model that I had bought sort of a new arrival thus, there wasn't any discount to it but instead there was a free gift. The gift a small lotto sports bag ~_~ I had paid RM199 for this shoe but then if it can last for at least a minimum of 3 years, then it's already worth it. Well purchase made no regrets now, just wear it, walk it and do it ;) New pair of shoes for work tomorrow yay !!!! | | Feedbacks: [ + ] |

My Biz Travel to Xiamen [ 10-NOV-2009 ] + view blog details + | After all the planning and also scheduling, today is the day that I had to depart from Penang over to Xiamen for a deployment. Basically, it's my first time to travel to Xiamen and also my second time to travel by flight. A bit nervous at first and had to wake up early to check-in at the Penang airport. The plan departs at around 8:04am so I need to be there 2 hours prior as it's an international flight. At around 5.20am I had left my house heading towards the airport and I didn't really get enough sleep
Luckily enough, one of my directors are traveling together with me on the same day and same flight. So with his experienced guidance, I am able to reach Xiamen safely without much of a problem ^^ Stay tune for more pics... Miss you guys !!!! | | Feedbacks: [ + ] |

Little India Photowalk [ 18-OCT-2009 ] + view blog details + | Weekend-Sunday, Felicia had suggested us to have a morning photo walk on the streets of Little India in conjunction to the Deepavali festival. We gathered at the Kapitan Keling mosque and went for a little de-tour in pursue of breakfast Koay Teow T'ng was the choice suggested by Felicia and so, we filled our growling stomachs before starting the walk. With our stomachs filled we were fueled and ready to go for a little walk.
As we walk along the streets of Little India, we were a little bored as there weren't much to shoot. During the morning, Indians will have the culture to wash the floors in front of their shops. Practically most of them were just doing that. We walked around taking our casual snaps here and there on subjectsthat we thought might be interesting

But after sometime, we were more likely to be walking along the streets rather than shooting our way through. It was then, that we started to ask our sporting friends; Ishtar and Felicia; to be our portrait models Here are some of the pictures taken. Well, trust me that it's not easy to get casual and natural shots of portraits.... luckily with the cooperative models, our snaps were not that bad. Thanks ladies

While shooting our portraits, we caught a cute little kitten on sight It looks very lonely and timid. Since it was mingling around where we stood, I had seized the opportunity to snap an up-close shot of the cat while my camera was mounted to my 90mm prime.

We walked one big round to cover the little lanes around Little India area and made our way back to where we had parked the car. On the way back, the skies were starting to get cloudy and it was then that I spotted the contrasting skies just right above the Kapitan Keling mosque Part of sky was cloudy while the other side remains clear. It's some sort of a Yin-Yang kinda thingy ... hahaha... it looks pretty cool actually. With the weather the way it is recently, I believe you are able to spot and shoot this type of 'contrasting skies' easily. | | Feedbacks: [ + ] |
