The Penang Floral Fest '09 [ 6-JUN-2009 ] + view blog details + |
Once again, it was the Penang flower festival held at the Penang Botanical Gardens. It was a 2 weeks long event and this time, my friend and I had went for a photoshoot on the second last day of the events. Nowadays, everyone is busy with their work and it's not so easy to have a full team gathering but we are happy that we managed to get a group 6 for this photo outing.
The layout and presentation of the flower fest was pretty much similar to the one last but one thing that was different was they roofed the main walkway of the botanical garden and inside it, they had some presentation and display of various plants together with their scientifc facts. However, seeing the fact that we arrived there late, we had not entered there but instead, we started to head our way towards the right upon entering the entrance for our shooting. As always, the colors of the flowers are wonderful as ever

We started walking around shooting freely and surprisingly, there were lots of peoeple, young and old I guess the beauty of nature never gets old even in this modern age ^^ We continued our shooting for around 2 hours without us being aware of it until the afternoon Sun, started to burn our skins hahaha... it was time for us to leave for lunch as everyone was hungry and thirsty. But among all of the pictures that I had taken today, the best and my personal favourite is this fat little fella... many people like to call it "baja hitam" but then it's a big bee ok????

I believe there might be more tourists that will be coming over to this place moving forward as the Penang Botanical Gardens is now providing tram services which will start somewhere along the Youth Park car park as you coming in from the Indian temple and it brings you around the Botanical Garden for a fare of RM1 if not mistaken. I hope this place can hold on to it's maintenance as it's really a great place to be in Penang. One of the remaining places, in Penang where you can jog around in the morning and enjoy the freshness of the flora and fauna Hopefully they are able to rebuild and bring back the water lily pond. It used to be one of the flower of attractions.
Thanks everyone for participating in the floral fest photography outing. |
